of my monthly savings during this period.

9.

With regard to item 'B' "the sums aggregat-

ing $6,800 paid into my account with the Chartered Bank from

August, 1905, to April, 1906":-

10.

The sum of $3,297.92 is represented by my

salary and office rent during this period.

11.

The sum of $308.01 is represented by amount

of rent, attendance &c., received from the Sanitary Institute

during this period.

12.

4th. August, 1905, part of the sum of $265

paid in on this date is made up of $200 my savings, $30 I

believe to be the amount of rent &c., received from the Glenealy

Club, and the balance of $35 is rent from the Sanitary Institute

included in the above item No. 11.

13.

31st. October, 1905, this cheque of $200

is for work done at and articles purchased for Government

Pavilion.

14.

3rd. November, 1905, as to the item of

$171.50 paid in on this date, I believe portion of it represents

the sum of $78 received by me as Treasurer for the presentation

to Sergeant Major Andrews, Hongkong Volunteer Corps (cheque for

this amount of $78 was on the 2nd. November, 1905, paid to Messrs. Falconer and Company.)

The cheque for $21.50 is in respect of the

Glenealy Club Account paid by the Civil Service Cricket Club,

and the balance, $72 would probably be represented by the Less

Account.

15.

30th. November, 1905, the cheque for $118

is represented by proceeds of $5 ticket on the Shanghai Derby.

2nd. January, 1906; the cheque for $47.55

16.

is in respect of Mess Account.
