With regard to item 'B' "the sums aggregat-
ing $6,800 paid into my account with the Chartered Bank from
August, 1905, to April, 1906":-

The sum of $3,297.92 is represented by my
salary and office rent during this period.

The sum of $308.01 is represented by amount
of rent, attendance &c., received from the Sanitary Institute
during this period.

4th. August, 1905, part of the sum of $265
paid in on this date is made up of $200 my savings, $30 I
believe to be the amount of rent &c., received from the Glenealy
Club, and the balance of $35 is rent from the Sanitary Institute
included in the above item No. 11.

31st. October, 1905, this cheque of $200
is for work done at and articles purchased for Government
Pavilion.
14.
3rd. November, 1905, as to the item of
$171.50 paid in on this date, I believe portion of it represents
the sum of $78 received by me as Treasurer for the presentation
to Sergeant Major Andrews, Hongkong Volunteer Corps (cheque for
this amount of $78 was on the 2nd. November, 1905, paid to Messrs. Falconer and Company.)
The cheque for $21.50 is in respect of the
Glenealy Club Account paid by the Civil Service Cricket Club,
and the balance, $72 would probably be represented by the Less
Account.

30th. November, 1905, the cheque for $118
is represented by proceeds of $5 ticket on the Shanghai Derby.
2nd. January, 1906; the cheque for $47.55
